More Evidence of Mainstream-Media "Liberal Bias"

San Francisco -- Sarah Palin and John McCain are making a cottage industry out of claiming that if only the press would stop showing its liberal bias the American people would rally to their campaign. But the evidence keeps piling up that, if bias does exist, it runs the other way. Case in point: The networks have all accepted scads of ads from Chevron, Exxon, and the coal industry around the Presidential debate -- as is their right. But ABC refuses to run a rebuttal ad from Al Gore's WE campaign highlighting how the oil industry and other fossil-fuel interests have misled the American people and stood in the way of clean energy. Take a look and see if you think this is somehow "over the top":

Gore has collected more than 100,000 protests of this censorship, but ABC still hasn't moved. Back in August, NBC did the same thing to a T. Boone Pickens ad pointing out that other countries were using natural gas to power their vehicles while exporting expensive oil to the U.S.

So maybe it's not really conservative bias that characterizes the networks -- maybe they too, like so many politicians, are "Paid for by Big Oil."

Carl Pope is a fool. The Green movement has stalled. Carl will continue to get used by the Democrats and once they get into office (which they will) they will begin drilling off shore because that is what 2/3 of the Amercian people want (according to a recent CNN poll)What a novel concept it would be if the SC decided to withhold support, waiting for a true green instead of picking the lesser of 2 evils.

I dont think so obama, most americans understand of all the money going overseas for oil is actually canada, and mexico by far the major beneficiaries. Offshore drilling and or anwr benefits us 10 years from now minimum and only a trickle. To be a retread(repub) truly is to be clueless

Nearly 2/3 of Americans changed their mind on the economy in the last three weeks. They will change their minds on this issue too. There are stronger forces afoot today than even Exxon & cohorts. And besides, these polls are all loaded by framing the terms of the debate. We need to learn how to do that if we are to help shape public opinion and counter the media bias. It is a trick that every lawyer uses in cross-examination. If you ask whether SOME off-shore drilling should be allowed in an energy mix to escape dependence upon "foreign oil", 2/3 of Americans may say yes. Try asking:
"Do you think off-shore drilling will solve America's energy problems?"
"Will off-shore drilling eliminate oil imports?"
"Would you rather have Exxon drill more wells off-shore to bring you 2% more oil 10 years from now while raising sea levels, drowning more coastal cities and generating stronger hurricanes or would you rather get tax rebates for installing solar panels on your roof (employing local labor), wind turbines on your farm and drive a plug-In hybrid getting up to 150 miles per gallon, so that we can eliminate our current imports from the Middle East and Venezuela within 10 years?"

Or we could ask "Do you think burning children in Waco was the right thing to do by Clinton and Reno". so what. polls can say anything. this one seems pretty simple and is an example of why, sadly, most of America is only paying lip service to the green movement. me need a real leader at the SC to get out the message.

There is no bias in political coverage by the Press. There is no Hell. There is a fairy Godmother that pays off children for good behavior and lost teeth.

Both national tickets are in the back pockets of Big Carbon, the Nuke' Em Boys, the Ponzi Scheming Wall Street Bailout Bunch, and both play right into the teeth of Osama bin Laden's plan to bankrupt America, which he announced as far back as 1996.

Oh, that's right, Bush declared that OBL doesn't matter. He will never admit to a mistake, or to strategic blunders that cost America's place in history. We are just losers in a game that the Press has yet to report on.
