Kansas coal battle update
Yesterday was a busy day for the Kansas legislature. While the state senate did override Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' veto of the two proposed coal-fired power plants, the state house vote has not yet happened. The discussion now is about a trailer bill that is a slight compromise - but really it's about as good as the first compromise (which Gov. Sebelius rejected Wednesday).
In some good news, the "Pack the Capitol" event planned by many pro-clean energy groups Wednesday had more than 200 people show up, according to our own Stephanie Cole!
