Protesting Canada's Tar Sands
You read the great blog post from Kate Colarulli of the Sierra Club Dirty Fuels Campaign earlier this week - all about how Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in Washington, DC, today to chat about energy with President Obama.
Well the Sierra Club and a coalition of clean energy groups showed up at the White House to tell President Obama to just say no to Canada's tar sands. Protesters lined up with signs saying no way to the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.
Meanwhile in Idaho last Saturday, more than 100 people gathered to protest the movement of some major oil equipment over Highway 12 for some tar sands projects. Check out photos of their awesome protest.
The message is clear - We don't want dirty tar sands oil for the U.S. - We want clean energy!
