Who Killed the Electric Car?
Sony
Classics
The answer is contained in the movie. It is a simple, yet
complicated subject, but you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll scream at the TV
screen. Who Killed the Electric Car? will give you a different
perspective on all the "green-washing" GM is doing right now. It will explain
the decision made by the California Air Resources Board that allowed the death
of the electric car. It also explains why there are virtually zero electric
vehicles on the roads now when there were hundreds not too long ago. Worth
seeing and passing it on.

Seen it. It's a good film. Definitely worth watching.

Considering that GM has no clue where the market is going it is understandable. However, a form of the electric car is going to make a comeback, they just will not be part of the future unless the top management is replaced......

How do I access the film? WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?
Tonight 3/21 is NOT good for me given Bill Moyers at 9pm.
ON Friday nights I always give Bill Moyers priority.
WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR's been highly recommended.

Important movie; speaks to the motivations of the Big Auto. Basically, they loathe electric cars because they don't break down i.e. so no extended warranty/shop work revenue for the car companies.

I am confused above the whole electric car issue. What about the batteries used in these cars? The manufacturing of and disposal of. Any comments on that?

Good Evening All,
1. You can find this movie at Blockbuster and other movie rental places.
2. This is an unbelievable story. GM had the Electric/ hybrid car market in their hands long before the Prius showed up and blew it. The EV 1 was fast, good looking and there was a line of customers that were practically begging to buy it. Like many people said the car was killed for economic reasons. Car dealers make their money not on selling the car but on repairs. The EV1 would have change the repair business model drastically.
The performance of an electric car is far superior to the typical gas guzzler. What a lot of people do not understand is that an electric car has full torque (power) at zero. If you want a snapshot of the EV1 and the Tesla Roadster, see the U tube video on the both the EV1 and the Tesla Roadster. http://youtube.com/watch?v=-i6lmf977hg&feature=related Obviously few have a 100k to spend for a car like the Tesla. There is another electric car company that is developing both a pure electric and hybrid version of their electric car. Aptera http://www.aptera.com a 3 wheel very “Star Wars” looking vehicle that will get more than 200 MPG and the price tag is around 30K.
To answer the battery question: Batteries are almost 100% recyclable.
I hope this helps
Regards
Harry

Fabulous movie. Unfortunately, the people who need to see this movie probably won't. Should be a mandatory flick in all high schools. Peace and Love, Lisa :)
