Veggie vs. Techie
"How big a bummer does attacking global warming have to be?" That's how Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Brown begins his post about last week's climate change conference at Yale. He compares warnings from Nobel Prize winner Rajendra K. Pachauri (Brown calls him "the vegetarian") with comments from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In essence:
Pachauri: Developed countries need to cut back on fossil fuels. Lifestyle changes like eating less meat and using less energy will be important.
Guv: Environmentalists have for too long been "like prohibitionists at a fraternity party." No one's going to give up their plasma TV to save a little energy; technology is the answer.
