Great White (Misunderstood?) Sharks

Not too long ago, a film crew traveled to South Africa and Northern California to investigate what it calls "the struggle for survival between earth's most feared creature and earth's most dangerous creature." One of those creatures has a dorsal fin and (to the tune of ba da dum dum) scared a generation of moviegoers out of ocean swims. The other is well, us.

Apparently one of the White Shark Video crew's discoveries was that making a movie is expensive, because next month the group will open its first shark photography exhibition in an effort to raise money for The Price of Existence. Judging by the trailer (above) and the filmmakers' love for the great whites, it could help viewers see another side of the animals known more for blood lust than their complex social patterns and critical role in the food web.

Share your thoughts: Do you ever swim in the ocean? Are you scared of shark attacks? What do you think about great whites?
