Starting Change: Wanna have the president-elect hear you? A new online tool allows people to submit, vote, and comment on ideas that’ll be submitted to – and read by – Obama. Change.gov

Flow’s Future: The U.S. Supreme Court today heard arguments relevant to the Clean Water Act’s future and protecting waterways from mining-industry dumping. Earthjustice

Yay Or Nay: The Senate will vote this week on whether to protect huge swaths of wilderness, including Oregon’s Mt. Hood and Copper Salmon wildernesses, California’s Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park Wilderness, and others. Sierra Club

Crying Over Spilled Coal: The TVA is responsible for another coal-waste spill – this one at the Widows Creek coal-fired plant in Alabama. Some of the toxic waste has already contaminated nearby Widows Creek. HuffPost

Priceless? Perhaps Not: “Ecosystems markets” are taking off as a potential new regulation tool; by putting an economic value on the right to pollute or develop, those actions can be measurably offset – at least in theory. Worldwatch
