National Day of Service
Like many of us, President-elect Barack Obama won't be reporting to work on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. But don't expect the new U.S. leader to spend the eve of his inauguration snoozing on the couch. Instead, Obama has pledged to spend the holiday performing acts of community service in his new town: Washington, D.C.
Obama has urged all Americans to join him in making January 19 a day of service, and the Sierra Club community is prepared to answer his call. Ready to lend a hand? We've prepared a few resources to help you get started.
