Last Day to Win Ad Space in Your Favorite Magazine!
As you read this, the Conservation Alliance is wrapping up its third annual Ads for the Earth Auction, an online sale of printed advertising space. The auction, running May 2 through 8, is selling ad space donated by leading outdoor- and adventure-oriented publications, including Alpinist, Backcountry, Backpacker, Men's Journal, National Geographic Adventure, Outside, Paddler, Sierra, Telemark Skier, and Wend magazines.
Each publication has donated one full-page, four-color ad. Winning bidders may use the ad space anytime within 12 months after the auction's close. Bidding for ads, which began on Monday, ends today, May 8, at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (2 p.m. Pacific). The auction is hosted by online auctioneer ReadySetAuction.com. (Did we mention that Sierra is among the publications in which you can win ad space?)
"We hope to raise $200,000, which will allow us to fund at least six additional projects in 2009," says Conservation Alliance Executive Director John Sterling. "And because bidding starts at 30 percent of full net value for each ad, our bidders may walk away with some good deals on ad space." (For instance, in the award-winning Sierra magazine...)
All proceeds from the auction go to the Conservation Alliance's efforts to protect wild places throughout North America. The Ads for the Earth Auction has raised $300,000 for the Conservation Alliance over the past two years. So place you bid now for ad space in Sierra, or another of these leading publications.
