Free Songs for Sierra Clubbers
Those who like to hear about musicians taking an active role in protecting the environment, will love the Giving Tree Band. The Illinois-based artists recorded their latest album, Great Possessions, in a carbon-neutral, LEED-certified facility, camped in a nearby state park to do it, biked 20 miles round-trip to work every day, and played instruments made from naturally fallen trees and reclaimed woods. But their commitment didn’t stop there. Their packaging and production for the new CD also went green. For more details, go here.
Their music has been described as “progressive old-time, eco-billy, and indie folk rock,” and the new album is due this August. Intrigued? Can’t wait? You’re in luck. The Giving Tree Band has invited Sierra Club supporters and friends to download a free song. Go here to get it.
