The Giving Tree Band Really is Giving

The Giving Tree Band, one of the bands offering free downloadable songs over at Climate Crossroads, released a new album last week called Great Possessions.

Check this out: For a month, the band camped in Wisconsin's Mirror Lake State Park, ate local organic produce, and rode bikes more than 500 collective miles to and from the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center (one of America's greenest buildings) to record tunes using solar energy and instruments made from naturally fallen trees. The CDs were manufactured using wind energy and packaged with 100 percent post-consumer waste. They're also investing in offsets for the record's shipping.

Oh, and the music is pretty great, too.
