Fast Food Nation: The FDA announced a new electronic database where food manufacturers must report potentially contaminated products within 24 hours of discovery. Associated Press

New Rules for Polluters: Lawmakers in Indonesia passed a bill that gives the Environment Ministry more power to stop polluting industries. The new law requires companies to obtain an environmental license and undergo environmental assessments. Reuters

Setting Sun: Market research firm The Information Network predicted that 50 percent of solar manufactures may not survive in 2010. Treehugger
