iPhone Goes Green

Touchscreenphone Ever thought listening to your favorite tunes could help the environment? Novothink,a company that specializes in providing solar technology for electronic devices, has produced a solar powered skin for the iPhone. The Solar Surge (to be released at the end of the month) has photovoltaic cells embedded into the device that charge when your battery is low and stores energy when you have a fully charged battery.

Novothink is not the only company to green up electronic devices. HYmini is a wind-powered charger that you can use on your iPod and small electronic devices. The Japanese company Nodaya sells a hand crank cell phone charger in case your cell phone dies during an emergency. Sevenchord Studios LLC has even launched an iPhone App called Carbon Pulse that monitors how your lifestyle affects the environment and provides ways to eliminate carbon emissions.
