Happy 20th Birthday to E - The Environmental Magazine
Sometimes being green doesn’t mean you can survive without the green. Last year had many media outlets struggling for cash, and environment-oriented publications were no exception. More than 400 print magazines disappeared from newsstand shelves in 2009, including eco-mags like Plenty, Green Guide, Organic Beauty, and National Geographic Adventure.
But at least one green 'zine seems to have a steady heart rate at 2010's outset: E - The Environmental Magazine just marked its twentieth year in print with its January/February issue. E began in 1990 with a remarkably prescient debut issue exploring the paper vs. plastic debate, green parenting, and ecological eating practices, and has since remained on the forefront of environmental reporting. The magazine will celebrate its anniversary with an updated design and a new digital edition. We wish it prosperity for at least 20 more years.
