Green Decor Week: A New Hue

New year, new color The new year is a great time to break old habits and begin new routines, but sometimes a fresh start requires a change of scenery. This week, we'll provide tips to help you redecorate your living space without harming the environment or breaking the bank.

Tip #1: Revamp Rooms with Nontoxic Paint

A fresh coat of paint can transform a room and improve your mood. When choosing a color, avoid products with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can aggravate asthma and contribute to smog. Look for the Green Seal to help you identify zero- or low-VOC brands. If you don't have the time or funds to redo your entire home or apartment, try painting just one wall in an energizing, bold color or give a worn piece of furniture a new look with some creative brushstrokes.

Tip #2: Make Your Own Wall Art

Tip #3: Decorate with Plants

Tip #4: Simplify Your Space
