Saturday is Get Outside Day

Kidshiking Pull on your hiking boots and get outside this Saturday, April 3, for the second annual Get Outside Day. The nationwide event is organized by the Natural Leaders Network, a group that's the result of a partnership between the Children & Nature Network and Sierra Club's Building Bridges to the Outdoors.

Outdoor activities will be happening across America. In Virginia's Meadowood Recreation Area, you can pitch in with a trail-restoration project and learn about their wild horse and burro program. In Yosemite, high school students will embark on a five-day hike. In Brecksville, Ohio, young people will go birding in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

To find or host an event in your area, check out this page of the Natural Leaders Network's site.
