Word to the Earth

Any tool that helps us meet two goals at once makes sense in today's accelerated culture, so we're glad the Earth Day episode of WordGirl will teach kids about the environment and improve their vocabulary. The program, which airs on PBS Kids Go!, follows Word Girl, a superhero from Planet Lexicon, as she fights crime and encourages correct word usage with her primate sidekick, Captain Huggy. While addressing environmental issues such as waste, plastic bottles, and alternative fuels, the "Earth Day Girl" episode's vocabulary lesson will include environmental buzz words like "recycle" and "excess."
