Green Your Hygiene: Clean Cosmetics

Mineral makeup Keeping clean can be a dirty business. Freshen up your hygiene routine with this week's tips about greening your self-care.

Tip #2: Pure Primping

Organic cosmetics can help rejuvenate your palette and the planet. And to make sure your skincare products weren't tested on animals, check the label. Primping with toxin-free products means waterways won't be harmed once you wash your face, and supporting cruelty-free brands safeguards critters, many of whom would have otherwise lived their lives in the wild, from becoming of victims of vanity.

One of our favorite ethical, effective lines is MyChelle; Cosmetics Without Synthetics is one of the more notable online natural-makeup shops; and Burt’s Bees stocks an Earth-friendly skincare line for men.

Tell us: Which Earth-friendly cosmetics and skincare products do you recommend?
