Green Your Camping Trip: Use Designated Campsites
The kids are out of school and summer's in full swing, so it's the perfect time for a camping trip. This week's tips will help you green your tent time.
Tip #2: Pitch a Well-Placed Tent
To minimize your impact on wildlife and vegetation, opt for well-established campsites such as those you can reserve in most national parks. When camping in the backcountry, look for a durable surface such as gravel, duff, or rock slab and avoid fragile ecological sites such as meadows and the edges of rivers or lakes.
