Green Your Garage Sale: Homemade Signs and Tags

Price tag Turning your trash into someone else's treasure is as easy as having a garage sale. The next time you organize one, consider this week’s tips.

Tip #2: Planet-Friendly Promos

Forget the fancy store-bought garage sale signs and price tags -- make your own out of scrap paper and cardboard. Not only will you be reusing paper that might normally be tossed out, you won’t have to spend cash on those premade, over-packaged labels and tags.

If you don't have scrap paper lying around, check out your workplace recycling bin or local grocery store for reusable paper. For completely waste-free advertising, announce your upcoming yard sale on craigslist or on similar free online advertising sites.

Tell us: What green advertising and item-labeling ideas do you recommend?
