A Blue August for Ocean Lovers

Ocean programming on television If the recent conclusion of Shark Week has you hungering for more ocean-related television extravaganzas, fret not: Planet Green and the Surfrider Foundation are hosting "Blue August," a month of programming dedicated to oceans, beaches, and waterways. Hosted by Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau, the TV event aims to help viewers learn more about water-quality issues, the Gulf oil disaster, and, of course, sharks.

Fans of dolphins (or Hayden Panettiere) who missed the Oscar-winning documentary The Cove when it was in theaters will want to catch the film's Aug. 30 network premiere on Animal Planet.
