Green Your Halloween: Swap Costumes
On Oct. 31, we hope you'll be out roaming the parties, the pumpkin patches, and the haunted houses, all the while munching on (or handing out) plenty o’candy. It can all leave a frightful mess — but it doesn’t have to. This week’s tips will help you ensure that Nov. 1 isn’t a scarier day for the Earth than the one that preceded it.
Tip #2: Swap Costumes
We know, we know: You can’t be the same thing you were last year. But that doesn’t mean you have to spring for a brand-new, plastic-wrapped polyester getup. You can, however, get a new-to-you disguise simply by swapping with a similarly sized friend. And, how convenient, this Saturday is Costume Swap Day. So whether you’re bartering for a bandolier, or trading away your tutu, you won’t be contributing to landfill waste. If you can’t find someone to swap with near you, you can always go vintage instead.
Tell us: How will you keep your Halloween costume green?
