It's America Recycles Day!
Americans generate 250 million tons of trash per year. But it doesn't have to be that way. A lot of what gets thrown out can be recycled. Today, on America Recycles Day, join the millions who have pledged to improve their recycling habits at home, at work, and on the go.
Recycling is the easiest way to reduce your carbon footprint, save energy, and protect natural resources. And every little thing counts, from recycling the newspaper you read this morning, to making sure your food scraps are composted after dinner.
Not sure how to get started? First, find out when, where and how to recycle in your community. Or get involved in one of today's more than 2,000 registered events, from contests to paper drives. Already a pro? Take the America Recycles Day Challenge to learn how to teach others about good habits, or how to start a program.
Today, join people across the country in celebrating something that has the power to drastically improve our nation. Pitch in any way you can, but don't stop there — vow to make recycling part of your daily routine.
