Green Your Presidents' Day: Install Those Panels
We honor our country's leaders on Presidents' Day. While we do rely on them to achieve change, each of us is responsible for improving our world. This week, we'll use our presidents as inspiration for eco-friendly actions.
Tip #3: Install solar panels.
Jimmy Carter brought clean energy to the White House in 1979 when he installed a solar-powered heating system. But Carter wasn't the only commander in chief to go photovoltaic: George W. Bush and Barack Obama both added solar panels to the presidential abode. So this Presidents' Day, consider how you might green your roof. If you install solar panels or a solar water heater, you can apply for an energy-efficiency tax credit, courtesy of the federal government.
Tell us: Have you installed, or will you install, solar panels?
