Green Your Super Bowl Party: Reduce Waste
Sunday's the Super Bowl, an American institution during which living-room celebrations can reach the same fever pitch as the stadium itself. Are you hosting a party? This week's tips are about how to make it greener
Tip #3: Go Paperless
Don’t end up with trash bags the size of a Steelers defensive lineman. You can reduce waste by going paperless: send electronic invitations (try Pingg, which stocks football-specific designs, or Facebook) and use your own ceramic plates, metal flatware, glass cups, and cloth napkins. Don’t want to spoil your good china? Find used — and free — dinner sets via Freecycle. And yes, in the long run, washing dishes is greener than chucking paper plates (here's how to save water while you do that).
