Water Captors: New York City is distributing 1,000 free rain barrels to residents in an effort to lessen the burden on the city's water and sewer systems. New York Times

Busted: Chesapeake Energy halted one of its Pennsylvania fracking operations, one of the largest in the nation, due to a blowout earlier this week. Mother Nature Network
