PBS's "Arthur" Celebrates Earth Day With Eco-Themed Episode

It’s never too early to start learning about being green. Arthur, PBS’s popular kids' show (it centers on Marc Brown’s beloved aardvark and his group of assorted animal friends), is kicking off this year’s Earth Day with a special episode encouraging kids to take their first steps toward saving the planet. In “Buster Baxter and the Letter from the Sea,” Buster finds a mysterious bottle in the ocean and is convinced it’s from the lost city of Atlantis. He throws his own bottles back, not realizing that not polluting is the real message.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. The Arthur website invites kids to take the Go Green Challenge, in which they join their favorite characters in support of a green cause. Fans also join D.W. in saving energy or taking the outdoors challenge with Molly by printing out worksheets and working with their families to earn stickers.

Find out when the new episode is airing in your town here.
