Green Fashion Monday: Solid Cases for Your Devices

Otterbox On Fashion Monday, we highlight a hip, green fashion item. Got a stylish eco-friendly product to recommend? Tell us about it and look for it in an upcoming blog post.

Regardless of how green your cell phone is, or whether its sheath is sustainable, the worst effect it can have on the environment (and your bank account) happens if it breaks and must be replaced. OtterBox is here to make sure that doesn’t happen. The company’s cases for electronics come in a variety of styles and colors, but they all have in common that, even if you’re on your most rip-roarin’ of rock-climbing adventures, your device should be fine. The Defender Series Case ($50), in particular, makes a hockey puck out of your iPhone.

The company’s new headquarters in Fort Collins, Colo., is pending LEED certification. And OtterBox’s business guys have taken eco-strides, including making their products' packaging PVC-free, and smaller, to cut down on materials used and transportation emissions. Plus, since November, all of OtterBox’s new packaging has displayed upgraded markings to help make sure that it reaches the right recycling stream.

Psst: If Dad’s an outdoorsy, techie kinda guy, this might make a good Father's Day gift.
