Battle for the Bay: A Trivia Game to Benefit Conservation
Battle For The Bay, a new interactive trivia game by Save the Bay, takes players through six decades of San Francisco history to defeat historic threats to the estuary.
Aside from the fun factor, the game also has a real-world role: For every person who plays, Save the Bay members George A. Miller and Janet McKinley will donate $1 to the organization. Players who finish the game get entered to win an iPad 2, and the city with the most players will win a happy hour sponsored by Save the Bay.
If you're wondering whether the San Francisco Bay needs saving, consider that 90% of the region's original wetlands have been compromised by development and pollution. Save the Bay was established in 1961 to fight the Santa Fe Railroad's paving plan. The game celebrates the nonprofit's 50th anniversary.
