Green Fashion Monday: J. Crew's Bamboo iPad Case

Got an iPad 2? Opt for an artisanal case in which bamboo holds your device secure. DODOcase’s San Francisco craftspeople produce their handmade covers using traditional bookbinding techniques, minimizing waste wherever possible. 

This summer, DODOcase designed a delightfully preppy piece for J.Crew ($80), a collaboration informed by vintage journals and books. In true J. Crew form, the outside of the case is a clean-looking linen, and the inside is a durable sailcloth. Our favorite part: There’s a vintage-y label inside sporting a sketch of a dodo bird that looks as though it came straight out of a 19th-century field guide. Under that are the words: “Protects from extinction.” The technology kind, anyway.
