Eco-Smoothies: Berry Bliss Recipe

Berries

This week, we're pairing healthy eco-smoothie recipes with easy exercises to help you kick off a healthier, greener 2013.

Recipe #2: Berry Bliss Smoothie

Just can’t wrap your mind around spinach in your smoothie? Well there are some great alternatives that will still provide you with plenty of fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants. The measurements of raspberries and blackberries in this Go Green Smoothie offer you 60 percent of your daily value of fiber and up to 88 percent of you daily value of manganese. Opt for local and organic ingredients whenever possible.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of blackberries
  • 1 cup of raspberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/4 cup of organic orange juice

Directions:

Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy all the lovely health benefits without sacrificing the amazing taste.

Healthy Action Tip: Change up your scenery today. Instead of having lunch in the office, walk around the corner to a near by park or seating area. The walk helps you burn a few calories, and the scenery is a nice change from the break room.
