no one calculated in the energy used by the cargo ships to transport the nickel to europe. then to china and japan. or the energy used to ship the car to america.

American cars ship from america to american cities. they dont go clear across the world.

you kidding man? Half the american cars are made in Mexico, with Chinese parts. Cool article though, now I wonder how Lithium Ion batteries compare? Way rather have a real electric vehicle.
