Youthful Energy Leads to Clean Energy in Yarmouth

Following a screening of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" several months ago, Yarmouth, Maine, high school students Amrit Robbins and Ned Jones began working with the Sierra Club and Maine Partners for Cool Communities to make theirs a Cool City. Their presentation to the Yarmouth Town Council may have sealed the deal, prompting council chair Carl Winslow to sign the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. Above, Councilor Winslow accepts the Sierra Club's Cool Communities Certificate at Yarmouth High School. Pictured, right to left, are Winslow, Maine Sierra Club leader Joan Saxe, Yarmouth Town Manager Nat Tupper, and student activists Robbins and Jones.
