Green Pet Care -- Adoption

Contact_your_local_animal_shelterHow green are your furry friends? This week we'll provide tips for pet owners.

Tip #3: Adopt Responsibly

Animal shelters have seen a spike in the number of pets being abandoned and given up for adoption in recent weeks as a result of shrinking household budgets. In what's been called the "foreclosure pet" phenomenon some pets have even been found abandoned inside foreclosed homes.

These dumped pups and cats need homes, so if you're prepared for the long-term physical, emotional, and economic implications of pet ownership, opt for adoption. For a list of local adoption sites, visit Pets 911.
