John Muir Takes Top Tent-Mate Honors
Outdoor adventures tend to include spending time in a tent, where the quality of the experience strongly depends on the personalities of your camping companions. Backpacker magazine recently asked its readers who they would most like to share a tent with. The winner? The Sierra Club's founder and first president, John Muir.
The top four responses to the Backpacker poll were:
1. John Muir
2. Kristin Hostetter
3. Edmund Hillary
4. Ernest Schackleton
