Green Your Camping Trip: Keep it Clean

Leave no trace The kids are out of school and summer's in full swing, so it's the perfect time for a camping trip. This week's tips will help you green your tent time.

Tip #1: Camp with a Purpose

Most of us are familiar with the "leave no trace" principles, but sometimes it's possible to leave a place even better than you found it. By picking up litter along trails and campsites, you'll set a good example and improve everyone's wilderness experience. To find opportunities to help build and maintain trails, repair meadows, and eradicate invasive vegetation, check out the service trips offered by Sierra Club Outings.
