Green Your Super Bowl Party: Plan a Vegetarian Menu

Vegetarian grillSunday's the Super Bowl, an American institution during which living-room celebrations can reach the same fever pitch as the stadium itself. Are you hosting a party? This week's tips are about how to make it greener.

Tip #2: Tackle a vegetarian menu

Wisconsin loves its bratwursts, so this one might be hard for Packers fans to swallow: This year, consider replacing traditional processed meats on your backyard barbecue with black-bean burgers, vegetarian chili, or another meat-free entrée. Apart from their low carbon footprint, vegetarian meals are often delicious, healthy, and inexpensive, and there's a wealth of online resources to help you find a local farmers’ market or plan a vegetarian Super Bowl menu.
